White House Slams House Republican For Student Loan Forgiveness Hypocrisy

The White House called out Republican Congressman Mike Kelly for complaining about President Biden’s latest efforts to provide student debt relief to millions of Americans.

On Thursday, Kelly took to Twitter to object to Biden’s cancelation of $9 billion in student loan debt for 125,000 borrowers.

“No student loan is forgiven,” Kelly tweeted. “The debt is just transferred onto the backs of the American taxpayers.”

This wasn’t the first time Kelly had objected publicly to the Biden Administration’s Student Debt Relief plan, so the White House was ready with a response:

“Congressman Mike Kelly had $987,237 in PPP loans forgiven,” the account clapped back.

With its latest action on debt relief, the Biden-Harris Administration has now approved $127 billion of student debt cancellation of 3.6 million Americans.
