Jim Jordan Loses Vote For Speakership AGAIN

In the second round of voting, Congressman Jim Jordan has fallen short of the 217 votes needed to elect him the next Speaker of the House.

The divided Republican chaos caucus in the House was unable to come together behind Jordan who only received 199 votes 18 shy of the 217 needed to win and two less than he received in the first round of voting. Republicans not voting for Jordan gave their support to Kevin McCarthy, who received five votes, Steve Scalise, who received seven votes, and other Republicans like Lee Zeldin as well as former Speaker John Boehner also received non-Jordan GOP votes.

Unlike House Republicans, House Democrats have stayed united behind their leader, Hakeem Jeffries. Hakeem Jeffries received all 212 Democratic votes, twelve votes more than Jordan.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has proposed traditional Republicans could break with the extremists within the House Republican Conference and partner with Democrats on a bipartisan path forward to end the chaos in the House if Republicans continue to prove unable to elect a Speaker.

After another failed attempt to elect a new Speaker by the GOP, Speaker Hakeem Jeffries sounds really good to us
