George Santos Runs From Press After Being Hit With NEW Charges
Criminal defendant and Congressman George Santos was charged with 10 new criminal counts Tuesday over accusations of stealing donors’ identities and running up thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges on their credit cards.
The 10 new charges against Santos also include allegations that the New York Republican embezzled cash from his company and conspired with his former campaign treasurer to falsify donation totals in order to hit fundraising targets set by national Republicans, among other offenses.
This fresh round of charges, called a superseding indictment, effectively replaces the earlier case against Santos, and brings the total number of counts against him to 23.
When the news broke, Santos was in a meeting with a group of people sorting through almost as much chaos as Santos himself, the House Republican conference, and when the Congressman left the meeting he was met with a barrage of press.
When Santos was asked whether he would resign, he said: “No, I will not.” He should.
Although Santos was able to escape the press Tuesday night, evading responsibility won’t be so easy for the disgraced New York Congressman. Santos fucked around, and now he’s about to find out.
